Undergraduate summer scholarships in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience

This competition is now closed.

Application deadline for the Undergraduate Summer Encounter program in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience is due Friday, February 17, 2012.

The Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience network is recruiting undergraduates from within and outside Canada to participate in a 16-week research training experience in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience. Applicants who are currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in an NSERC-related field (natural science and engineering) are eligible to apply. Please note that medical residents and students holding NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC fellowships for the same time period are not eligible to apply.

The ACN-Encounter research experience is a 16-week, full-time research fellowship, which will start in May 2012. Students accepted in the program will receive a $4,500 stipend from the Create grant to cover the full 16-week period. In addition, supervisors provide $1125 per student from their individual grants toward the stipend. A one-time relocation allowance of up to $600 will be available for those who incur initial travel costs. Undergraduate trainees will also receive a travel allowance to attend a summer workshop in ACN research, at which they will present a progress report.

ACN summer traineeships are open to citizens of all countries; all other NSERC eligibility rules for Undergraduate Research Awards. Former awardees are only eligible to re-apply with a new supervisor AND a new project.
