DESCRIPTION:Feelings of co-presence and coordination accuracy in remote collaborative performance

Abstract: To what extent do physical and visual cues affect musical collaborators’ feelings of being together and the success of their joint performance? A study of 30 piano-and-saxophone jazz duos compares their coordinated performance and their feelings of co-presence in the same physical space, in two separate spaces but connected via video and audio, and in two separate spaces connected via audio only.
