Development of Geriatric Inclusive Art: Concept, Evidence and Perspectives

With the current aging of the population, new approaches are needed to improve the care of geriatric inpatients. Geriatric Inclusive Art (GIA) is an intervention which promotes emotional well-being in older patients admitted to the hospital and which is used to improve health and functional status. Dr. Olivier Beauchet (professor of Geriatrics and holder of the Dr. Joseph Kaufmann Chair in Geriatric Medicine) and Dr Julia Chabot (Geriatric Fellow) from the Geriatrics Division of the Department of Medicine of McGill University will present about the use of painting and music as forms of Geriatric Inclusive Art (GIA).
