Jiaqiang Zhu

Jiaqiang Zhu is a Ph.D. candidate majoring in linguistics from Hunan University, China. Jiaqiang is interested in researching speech perception and music cognition, particularly the underlying mechanisms for processing linguistic pitch (e.g., Mandarin/Cantonese/Thai lexical tones) and non-linguistic pitch (e.g., music melodies/pure tones), with multiple behavioral and neural paradigms applied and diverse models or theories explored in empirical studies. Recently, Jiaqiang focused on statistical learning of pitch information in congenital amusics and musically intact individuals.
